Product introduction

Hydroxy Propyl Methyl Cellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic, water soluble cellulose ether.It is widely used as thickener, protective colloid, stabilizer, suspending aids and water-retention agents in many industrial applications.

Solubility                  It is soluble in water and some organic solvent ,like ethyl alcohol /water ,acetone /water ,methyl chloride etc .The solution with surface activity ,will not be effected by pH value in water .

Application of HPMC:

The application includes but is not limited to the following fields:

1.Construction :with excellent thixotropy ,it provides pumping performance to mortar .As adhesion agent in plaster ,gypsum based material ,putty or other construction material ,it could improve workability and extend the operating time .As strength adhesion agent used with tile ,marble ,plastic decorative ,it could reduce the dosage of cement .It also have good water - retention property .

2.Ceramic :used as binder in ceramic application .

3.Coating :used as thickener ,dispersing agent and stabilizer ,with good compatibility in water or organic solvent .

4.Lnk&Print : used as thickener ,dispersing agent and stabilizer ,with good compatibility in water or organic solvent .

5.Plastic as release agent ,softening agent and smoothing agent .

6.PVA :mainly used as dispersion agent in PVA production .

7.Others :widely used in leather ,paper ,food and textile industrial .

Dissolve and Using Method

1.Heat the hot water with 1/3 or 2/3 till to at least 85℃ ,then add the HPMC ,got the hot water slurry ,then add the rest cold water and keep stiring until colder .

2.Made into gruel :Made HPMC into high concentration solution first ,when used ,just add cold water and keep stiring .

3.Dry-mix :As HPMC has excellent compatibility ,it could be dry mixed with cement ,gypsum powder etc.

Packaging and Storage

The products are supplied in multiply paper bags with polyethylene inner liner, with the net weight of 25 kg.

The product should be stored under dry and clean conditions in its original packing and away from heat. The product is hygroscopic. The packaging is selected in a way to avoid ingress of moisture ,but the water content of the packed product will/may increase if not stored dry.
